The Cube has a way of emptying your stash faster than you expect. One minute you are adjusting a favourite drop from D4 items, and the next you are short on Dust or Prisms again. Raw, Coarse, Refined, Pure, Volatile, Enhanced, and Attuned Dust all have a job, so it pays to farm with a purpose rather than chasing random drops across Sanctuary. The best routine mixes Escalations with targeted Undercity runs.
Build Escalations Around Material Chests
Nightmare Escalations are the workhorse here. Put five Nightmare Dungeon Sigils into the Cube's Amalgamation recipe, then take the Escalation Sigil into a chained run. Before you enter, spend War Plan points on Branching Pathways. Those extra portal options matter more than they sound, since they give you more shots at useful dungeon modifiers. Whenever Materials Reserve appears, take it. Extra material chests are the reason these runs stay worthwhile, even when the gear drops are forgettable.

Attuned Dust is the awkward one, especially when you are rerolling Unique Power values on Ancestral Uniques. Gauntlet and Fearless Conviction turn Escalations into a more focused route. Kill Elites and Champions to build Conviction, then make shrine windows count. After the shrine effect ends, those foes return as renewed enemies, letting you earn another round of stacks. Don't take hits if you can help it; damage cuts your Conviction. Nemesis is a smart extra pick because more shrine Elites means more chances at a strong Conviction Chest.

When one Prism type is holding up your build, go to Kurast Undercity with a Tribute of Ingenuity. Lesser and Normal Tributes can be combined in groups of five, while Greater Tributes are worth saving for longer sessions. At the Spirit Brazier, add a Bargain that points rewards toward Aggressive, Resourceful, or Chromatic Prisms. Gutter Filth is also worth unlocking. Beacons may call in a Portal Prankster, and that enemy can drop a huge pile of Raw Dust, plus Attuned Dust and Prisms. Even at maximum Attunement, sweep the remaining beacons before heading to the boss.
Keep a Practical Backup Loop
Escalation Sigils and Tributes do run dry, so Helltides fill the gap nicely. The density is good, and repeated Blood Maiden summons work even better with other players nearby. Pick up Whisper progress whenever it overlaps with what you are already doing; caches are a bonus, not a plan. Keep rotating these activities, and your D4 items buy choices will feel much easier to support when another expensive Cube upgrade comes up.
