    • RE: How to convert OST file to PST easily?

If the mailbox is still connected, the easiest route is inside Outlook itself, use the import and export option to export the mailbox to a PST file, that keeps the folders and mail intact.

Just renaming the file does not work, an OST is tied to its original mailbox and profile, so an orphaned OST from a deleted account will not open on its own. In that case you need a converter that can read the OST directly, and it is worth testing it on a copy first to check the folders and attachments come across properly.

    • RE: How to repair corrupt video files?

First thing, work on a copy of the file and leave the original alone, since every failed repair attempt can make it worse. If the file plays at all but stutters or stops, try a different player first, sometimes it is a codec problem rather than real corruption.

If the file will not play, a re-encode often helps, it rebuilds the container and drops the damaged frames instead of failing on them. If the header or the end of the file is missing, which happens a lot with interrupted recordings, then a repair tool that can rebuild the index from a working file recorded with the same settings is the better option.

    • RE: How to Read/Open Thunderbird Mail File directly?

Thunderbird stores local mail in MBOX files, which are just plain text files with no extension, one file per folder, sitting in the profile folder under Mail or ImapMail. The easiest way to read one directly is to copy it into the Local Folders directory and restart Thunderbird, then the folder shows up like any other.

You can also open the file in a plain text editor to read the messages, since each message starts with a From line, but that gets messy with attachments, so the Local Folders trick is cleaner if you just want to browse the mail normally.

    • RE: Building Blockchain-Based Casino Games: Smart Contracts, Security, and Fair Gameplay

For testing I would start with unit tests on a local network and cover the money paths first, deposits, payouts and refunds, before getting into the game logic. Then run it on a testnet with a throwaway wallet, since that catches wallet and gas problems you never see locally.

For randomness, do not use block timestamps or block hashes, they can be predicted or influenced. A verifiable random function from an oracle is the safer route, the contract requests a number and receives it in a separate callback, so neither side can pick the result in advance and you can show players the proof afterwards.

    • RE: Refrigerator Repair in Brooklyn, NY: Refrigerator and Freezer Repair Services

Useful thread, saving this number. Our fridge leaked from the ice maker line a few weeks back and by the time we noticed, water had already spread under the kitchen floor. Fixing the fridge was the easy part. The harder part was figuring out how far the water had gone without tearing everything open. We got an infrared inspection done by Vertix Diagnostics and they traced the moisture behind the cabinets and under the flooring, which helped us decide what actually needed repair. So if a fridge leak has been going on for a while, it is worth checking the water damage behind it too, not just the appliance itself.
